Joseph’s Goal is heading to Boston this week for the NKH Crusaders research conference.
The event will bring together families, researchers and supporters to share knowledge, progress and hope.
Emma and Paul Kendrick will attend the conference, where Prof. Nick Greene and Dr Johan Van Hove are set to speak about their latest research.
Round table discussions with other families affected by NKH will also form part of the programme.
For Joseph’s Goal, the trip is not only a chance to hear the latest research updates.
It is also an opportunity to connect with the wider NKH community and spend time with families on a similar journey.
A Special Stop in New York
Before heading to Boston, the family will make a quick detour to New York for the third Walk4Joseph NYC.
Over time, Paul has become friends with a lovely group of New Yorkers who also happen to support Wigan Athletic.
After learning about Joe and the Walk4Joseph campaign, they decided to show their support in a very special way by walking for Joseph in New York.
The Third Walk4Joseph NYC
This year’s walk will take place on Saturday morning.
The group will set off from Battery Park in Manhattan and finish at Banter Bar in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, just in time for the Wigan Athletic match.
The gesture means a great deal to the Joseph’s Goal family, and the day always brings plenty of emotion.
In previous years, walkers have chanted, “Joseph’s Goal is on a roll!” in a show of support and camaraderie. It is a chant first created by Joe’s brothers when they were very little.
Joseph’s Goal From Wigan to New York to Boston
From Wigan to New York to Boston, Joseph’s Goal continues to bring people together through friendship, football and a shared determination to support progress in NKH research.
As Emma said, it is incredibly emotional and a powerful reminder that Joseph’s story continues to inspire people far beyond Wigan.
